If this is the first look at Jared Leto as Morbius, the Living Vampire, well, holy shit.
An unconfirmed photo has surfaced allegedly from Columbia Pictures’ latest Spider-Man spinoff in which Leto plays Michael Morbius, a scientist who, in trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally transforms himself into a living vampire. Though disgusted by his own bloodlust, he chooses to prey upon criminals he deems unworthy of life.
The alleged first look of the titular blood-sucker is a winner, lining up perfectly with one of the coolest panels from the Marvel comics. It’s important to note that it’s very well possibly a fake, but it’s so badass that we had to share it.
A trailer is said to be just around the corner, which makes sense considering Morbius bites into theaters on July 31, 2020. Can Sony build off the success of Venom and strengthen a dark universe around all of the Spider-Man villains? This is a good start.
