‘Prisoners of the Ghostland’: Nicolas Cage Has Explosive Devices Attached to His Body in Action-Western Extravaganza! [Trailer]

“I… am… radioactive.”

Up next from Nicolas Cage, who just delivered one of his best performance in years in the revenge-drama Pig, is a bit of a wackier movie titled Prisoners of the Ghostland, the English-language debut of Suicide Club director Sion Sono. RLJE Films will release the movie in theaters and on VOD and Digital September 17, 2021, and the official trailer has arrived today.

As expected, this one looks completely bonkers, with Cage playing a man who has explosive devices attached to his body… yes, *all over* his body. His mission? To rescue the granddaughter of a wealthy warlord, who just so happens to be played by Bill Moseley!

As Meagan explains her review, “Blending the western, post-apocalyptic, and samurai thriller genres, united by its polished neon-soaked aesthetic, this genre-mashup is nothing short of breathtaking.” Check out a taste of the madness down below!

Here’s the latest plot synopsis…

“In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber (Nicolas Cage) is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor (Bill Moseley), whose adopted granddaughter Bernice (Sofia Boutella) has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner his freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman—and his own path to redemption.”

Cage recently described, “It’s out there. I wear a skintight black leather jumpsuit with grenades attached to different body parts, and if I don’t rescue the governor’s daughter from this state line where they’re all ghosts and bring her back they’re gonna blow me up.
