Mckenna Grace to Star in ‘The Bad Seed’ Sequel That She Co-Wrote
The 2018 Lifetime remake of the classic 1956 Oscar-nominated thriller The Bad Seed is getting a sequel, with actress Mckenna Grace reprising her role as the eponymous character, Emma.
Deadline reports that Mckenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home, Ghostbusters: Afterlife) co-wrote the script with her father, Ross Burge, and the 2018 film’s writer, Barbara Marshall (Wish Upon).
The sequel will follow, “15-year-old Emma, a seemingly typical teenaged girl who is anything but that. Set several years after the murderous events of the first movie, which left her father (Lowe) dead, Emma is now living with her aunt Angela and navigating high school. Angela’s husband begins to suspect that Emma may not be as innocent as she appears and suggests sending her off to boarding school. Meanwhile, a new girl at school seems to know Emma’s secrets, leaving Emma no choice but to slip back to her old ways and take care of her enemies by any means necessary.”
Louise Archambault (Catastrophe, This Life) is set to direct. Grace executive produces along with her father, her mother, Crystal Burge, and Mark Wolper, who executive produced the 2018 movie.
The Bad Seed sequel will premiere on Lifetime in 2022.
Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary) has made no secret of the fact that he’d love to play Ghost Rider in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, and it’s now officially happening.
Announced by Marvel out of San Diego Comic-Con tonight, Ryan Gosling will play the iconic Marvel character in a Ghost Rider movie being directed by Shawn Levy!
Expect Ryan Gosling to play Ghost Rider on the big screen in 2028.
Johnny Blaze is of course the most iconic and well-known Ghost Rider, selling his soul to Satan and becoming a supernatural badass. Nicolas Cage brought Blaze to life on screen in both 2007’s Ghost Rider and 2011’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, while Gabriel Luna more recently played the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider in the series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Luna was set to star in his own Ghost Rider spinoff series in the wake of that small screen appearance, but that Hulu project ended up being squashed before it ever had a chance.
Fans have been waiting for Ghost Rider to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years now, with Ryan Gosling making it clear that he’d love to bring the character back to life.
