‘Kids vs. Aliens’: Jason Eisener’s Sci-Fi Horror Adventure Unites Bloody Disgusting and ‘Hobo with a Shotgun’ Team!
We here at Bloody Disgusting are massive fans of Jason Eisener, the Canadian-based filmmaker who has recently been kicking ass with the astounding “Darkside of the Ring” series. However, horror fans know Eisener as the director behind the ridiculously awesome holiday short “Treevenge” and also the grindhouse-inspired Hobo with a Shotgun. He would then go on to get behind the camera on the emotional V/H/S/2 short, “Slumber Party Alien Abduction”.
Bloody Disgusting is working with Eisener once again, teaming with the Hobo with a Shotgun crew on the sci-fi horror Kids vs. Aliens, which currently wrapped production in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Look above for a shot straight from the set.
“Kids vs. Aliens follows Gary and his older sister Samantha as an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the two warring siblings to band together to survive the night.”
The film stars Dominic Mariche (“Are You Afraid of the Dark?”), Calem Macdonald (“Moonshine,” “The Umbrella Academy”), Emma Vickers (“Diggstown”), and newcomers Phoebe Rex, Asher Grayson, Ben Tector, and Isaiah Fortune.
“Bringing alien terrors to life is a literal dream come true,” said Eisener. “Kids vs. Aliens is inspired by my childhood nightmares and obsessions. Hopefully my parents will forgive me for using their house as our main location.”
The film reunites the creative team behind the 2011 cult horror hit Hobo with a Shotgun, with Eisener at the helm and sharing writing duties with John Davies, and Rob Cotterill (The Lighthouse, Possessor) producing for Yer Dead Productions.
Kids vs. Aliens is produced by Josh Goldbloom of Cinepocalypse Productions in association with Brad Miska of Bloody Disgusting. It follows V/H/S/94 as the second collaboration between the two companies.
Producers also include Marc Tetreault and Jason Levangie of Shut Up & Colour Pictures (Suck It Up, Night Blooms).
Executive Producers include Mark Ward, Adam Boorstin & Michael Schreiber for Studio71, and Bloody Disgusting’s Tom Owen.
Deadline first reported the news.

How to Watch ‘Cam’ Free Online After the Tech Thriller Left Netflix
Before updating the video nasty Faces of Death, director Daniel Goldhaber and writer Isa Mazzei explored the dangers of online life in tech-thriller Cam, their feature debut that was acquired by Netflix in 2018 after making waves on the festival circuit.
At the end of last year, the Netflix exclusive quietly departed from the streaming platform, left without another streaming home.
It’s not an isolated story; Mike Flanagan’s Hush also left streaming entirely for a period until it was finally picked up on both physical media and other streaming services.
While the tech-thriller currently isn’t available to watch on Netflix, Tubi, Hulu, or any other platforms, that’s not a problem for Cam thanks to a very cool move by Goldhaber: the director has made his breakout film accessible to watch online for free via his website.
As his site notes: “CAM is unfortunately not currently available to view on any platforms, so you can watch it here if you like :).“
No subscriptions or fees necessary, just hit play.
Cam follows Alice (Madeline Brewer), who works as an online cam girl obsessed with her ranking on the cam site. The higher her ranking goes, the more it draws unwanted attention, and Alice soon finds herself replaced on her own show with a doppelganger.
Written by Mazzei, a former camgirl, it uses the horror thriller premise to examine the life of a sex worker; Alice’s career ambition is directly at odds with the shame it brings to her family, and how she tries to spare them from it by keeping them in the dark. It only compounds her danger when the doppelganger enters the equation in Goldhaber’s engaging thriller.
For a deep dive into the treacherous world of Cam, listen to Horror Queers’ episode on it now.
