SCREAMBOX Acquires Sci-fi Creature Feature ‘Subject’ Ahead of Chattanooga Film Festival!

Cineverse announced today that they have acquired all North American rights to the mind-bending Australian horror film Subject. Gritty and cerebral, the film premiered at the Monster Film Festival and has been featured at festivals around the world including the upcoming Chattanooga Film Festival and was even selected for Cannes’ Frontières showcase.

Subject will premiere on Cineverse’s horror streaming platform, SCREAMBOX, which is powered by Bloody Disgusting, as a SCREAMBOX Original.

From award-winning director Tristan Barr (Good Times), Subject follows a man ensnared in a sinister government experiment. On his way to prison, Willem is presented with an intriguing offer: take part in a shadowy government experiment and have his sentence commuted.

But little does he know his isolation experiment may not be what it seems, casting doubt upon his perceived solitude and raising questions about his true state of aloneness.

Subject is an isolating experience that pulls you deep inside the mind of someone convinced they are going mad,” said Brad Miska, Managing Director of Bloody Disgusting/Cinedigm. “Horror fans will be left to wonder who the real monster is: the prisoner, the creature or the watcher when Subject streams this summer on SCREAMBOX.”

“Considering the insane journey it took when conceiving this film we couldn’t think of a more appropriate partner than the horror fanatics at SCREAMBOX,” said Barr.

The film was written by Vincent Befi with Barr and David Gim producing on behalf of their company Continuance Pictures. Jason Scott Goldberg, Daniel Kim and Mark Kim acted as executive producers. The deal was negotiated by Brandon Hill, Director of Acquisitions, on behalf of Cinedigm and Jay Scott Goldberg on behalf of the film.

SCREAMBOX features a broad mix of content for casual and die-hard horror fans alike. The service is refreshed regularly with content from Cineverse’s extensive genre library with films and episodes delivering every type of terror imaginable — Supernatural, Slashers, Zombies and more.

SCREAMBOX currently features classic horror films like Slumber Party Massacre and the original House on Haunted Hill, the blockbuster indie horror films The Outwaters and Terrifier 2 as well as horror series such as “The Island” and “Master of Horror.” SCREAMBOX recently acquired the docuseries “RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop” and the documentary film Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story. SCREAMBOX is available to stream on iOS, Android, Prime Video, YouTube TV, Comcast, Cox and screambox.com.
