‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ – First Images from Slasher Sequel Bring That Yellow Bastard Back to Life

As promised, a sequel to this year’s Winnie the Pooh slasher movie is on the way, and in fact, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is already in production!

The Hollywood Reporter shares the first images from the upcoming Blood and Honey sequel this morning, which preview the return of the murderous incarnation of Pooh.

The sequel will also feature the characters Christopher Robin, Piglet, and Owl.

THR notes, “Currently in production, the sequel comes with a bigger budget, more kills and even an Olivier Award-winning, BAFTA-nominated star in the form of Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral), who has joined the cast.”

“Bigger and Badder. The sequel will feature new creature designs, a new cast, and a high death count,” said writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. “However, this time Pooh and friends will be leaving the 100 Acre Wood to take their fight to the quiet community of Ashdown!”

“Our sequel we have a substantially higher budget so Rhys is really able to create a shocking, explosive and gore-filled movie. I truly think people will really dig what we are creating,” said producer Scott Jeffrey.

The cast for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 also includes Tallulah Evans, Scott Chambers (Doctor Jekyll) as Christopher Robin, Ryan Oliva (Seasoning House) as Winnie-the-Pooh, and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney (The Pope’s Exorcist) as Young Pooh.

Matt Leslie (Summer of 84) wrote the screenplay for the slasher sequel.

One of this summer’s most hotly anticipated new movies is A24 and Ti West’s MaXXXine, a follow-up to X and Pearl that brings Mia Goth’s title character into the 1980s.

With her past catching up to her, Maxine attempts to make it big as a superstar in Hollywood, 1985. While you wait, check out a new image below courtesy of USA Today this week.

Releasing in theaters on July 5, 2024, MaXXXine is rated “R” for…

“Strong violence, gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use.”

If you missed the official trailer, you can watch it right here.

Mia Goth stars alongside Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito and Kevin Bacon in MaXXXine.

Here’s the official plot synopsis from A24 this week: “In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.”

Last we saw Maxine in Ti West’s X (2022), she was the sole survivor of a massacre carried out by elderly couple Howard and Pearl in the Summer of ’79. Goth of course pulled double duty as the villain Pearl in that movie, who got her own origin story in Pearl (2022). Pearl and Maxine are different characters, but they share the common goal of wanting to be stars.

Will Maxine finally make it in Hollywood? Or will the demons of her past become her ultimate downfall? With the Night Stalker roaming free, we expect MaXXXine to get wild this summer.
