Diane Guerrero (“Doom Patrol”) and Juan Pablo Raba (“Narcos”) star in The Fields Are Watching, a supernatural horror film rooted in Latin American folklore.
The project was previously known as The Whistler, based on the Venezuelan legend El Silbón.
It centers on a grieving couple who inherit a secluded farm in Venezuela following the loss of their daughter, unaware of the dark forces they’re about to face.
Indhira Serrano, Laureano Olivarez, Laura Sofía Domínguez, and Norberto Rivera round out the cast.
Diego Velasco directs from a script he wrote with Carolina Paiz. The husband-and-wife duo previously collaborated on an episode of “Orange Is the New Black.”
Hideout Pictures’ (Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Spirit Halloween: The Movie) Margaret Miller & Trevor O’Neil produce.

Screen Daily reports that Film Mode will debut the trailer at the European Film Market in Berlin this week. Hideout Pictures represents North and Latin American rights.
