First Look at Meta Horror ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’ from ‘I Saw the TV Glow’ Director

Mubi has revealed the first look at Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma via a series of brief GIFs on social media.

Described as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a Friday the 13th sequel,” the sapphic meta horror film is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow).

It follows a queer filmmaker hired to direct a new installment of a long-running slasher franchise. The director fixates on the prospect of casting the ‘final girl’ from the original movie, and the two women descend into a frenzy of psychosexual mania.

Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”) and Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”) star.

“I make movies I wish existed when I was a kid,” Schoenbrun said prior to production. “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is my best attempt at the ‘sleepover classic:’ an insane yet cozy midnight odyssey that beckons to unsuspecting viewers from the horror section at the local video store.”

Mubi and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment produced Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, which is due out this year. Expect more details soon.
