Neve Campbell, Isabel May, Kevin Williamson Talk ‘Scream 7’s Mother-Daughter Connection

In addition to the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Scream 7 will introduce Isabel May as her daughter, Tatum Evans, who’s the same age Sidney was in the original Scream.

The actresses are joined by writer-director Kevin Williamson to discuss the characters’ strained dynamic in the new featurette below — which also shows Tatum wearing what appears to be Sidney’s leather jacket from Scream 2.

“There’s no conversation that she can have about her past that doesn’t end in death and doom,” Williamson explains. “By keeping the past from her daughter, she’s made her vulnerable to what could coming knocking.”

The latest installment in the slasher saga opens in theaters — including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and other premium large formats — on February 27 via Paramount.

Williamson (writer of Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4) directs from a script he co-wrote with Guy Busick (Scream 2022, Scream VI).

When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.

Campbell and May are joined by franchise veterans Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Timothy Simons, and Mark Consuelos round out the cast.

William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein produce.

Scream 7 is rated R for “strong bloody violence, gore, and language.”
