Takashi Yamazaki (Godzilla Minus One) will make his English-language movie debut with Grandgear, and the film now has a release date out of CinemaCon tonight.
Grandgear will release in theaters on February 18, 2028.
Discussing Film recaps a small bit of Grandgear footage that was shown at CinemaCon but has not appeared online: “A brief teaser showed 2 massive mechs fighting in a city.”
Grandgear is produced by J.J. Abrams and his company Bad Robot.
Sony Pictures landed Grandgear after a competitive bidding war.

Takashi Yamazaki is also back to direct the follow-up to Godzilla Minus One, titled Godzilla Minus Zero. The teaser trailer for that film will be coming out of CinemaCon tomorrow.
