Charlize Theron to Reteam with ‘Apex’ Director on ‘Six Clean Kills’

Following the success of their survival thriller Apex, Charlize Theron and director Baltasar Kormákur will reunite on Six Clean Kills, Deadline reports.

The pair will produce the action thriller for Universal Pictures, with Kormákur set to direct and Charlize Theron eying the lead role.

The film is based on an unpublished novel by Stan Parish, who’s on board to adapt the script. Plot details for both the book and the movie have not been released.

Theron will produce through her Secret Menu first-look deal with Universal along with AJ Dix and Beth Kono. Kormákur will produce via his Blueeyes Productions. Parish will executive produce. Ryan Jones and Christine Sun will oversee the film for the studio.

Deadline notes, “Theron has been loosely attached to the project for some time and following the Apex shoot, the two had been discussing what could be next after enjoying their time together. Six Clean Kills felt like the perfect follow-up.”

Apex debuted on Netflix last month at the top of the streamer’s global English film list and has remained #1 on the Netflix Top 10 for two straight weeks.

Theron stars in Apex as a grieving adrenaline junkie testing her limits in the remote and unforgiving Australian wilderness. She suddenly finds herself not only up against the elements, but also facing off against a ruthless and lethal predator, played by Taron Egerton.
