Up next from director Rebekah McKendry (Glorious, Elevator Game) is the horror movie Sundown, and Variety reports that Shudder has acquired the rights to distribute the film.
Director Rebekah McKendry’s upcoming horror movie Sundown follows three generations of women who reunite in a remote cabin to avenge a loved one’s death, only to discover their captive isn’t who he seems to be, and his family is closing in, waiting for sundown.
Olwen Fouéré (The Watchers, Mandy), Camille Sullivan (Shelby Oaks), Summer H. Howell (Carrie), Daniel Bernhardt (The Matrix Reloaded, Nobody 2) and David Alpay (From) star, along with Kyle Mac (Reacher), Elisa Paszt (Monica’s News), David Ian McKendry, Junko Bailey (The Grudge), and Megan Best (Elevator Game).
“The town in Sundown feels very much like the hometown of my youth, and its family squabbles are ones I know all too well,” McKendry said. “I am both a daughter and a mother, and this film allowed me to explore female relationships inspired by my own life while celebrating my deep love of ’80s vampire movies.”
“Sundown is ferocious, smart and completely unafraid to have a great time with horror,” said IFC’s Mark Ward. “Rebekah yet again proves that she can sustain a killer tone that balances brutal thrills and genuine supernatural menace, delivering the kind of wild ride that stays with you. We knew immediately that this was a film Shudder audiences would embrace.”
Joshua Hull and David Ian McKendry (Glorious) wrote the script for Sundown.
Executive Producers include music legend Slash under his BerserkerGang label.
