Devour The Day “Golden City” Premiere (Exclusive)
We’ve teamed up with Memphis, TN hard rockers Devour the Day to bring you the exclusive song premiere for “Golden City”, the band’s new single from their upcoming album S.O.A.R.. The song offers a scathing look at the concept of buying your way into heaven rather than earning it through good deeds.
Vocalist/guitarist Blake Allison tells BD:
‘Golden City’ speaks specifically about a promised nirvana or paradise that is offered with the sacrifice of money in the Christian community. The rules of getting into an eternal city of light are available at a bargain price. A good example is someone like Joel Osteen, a mass manipulator with a television camera and and distorted perspective of an old book. Something should be said about it in hopes that those oppressed by this spiritual fairy tale, especially young people, hear that their doubts about this cycle are valid and relatable.

We’re exclusively unveiling the new trailer and key art for the real-time nightmare below, ahead of the film’s release in select theaters and VOD on August 21.
Adam O’Brien (Mom) directs from a script by John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson.
When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.
Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, Bill Rowat, and Mark Antony Krupa star.
“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien previously teased. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.
O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
