We’ve teamed up with Boston melodic death metal band My Missing Half to bring you the premiere of their video for “Embedded in Tragedy”. Directed by Dan Newman, the video mixes performance footage of the band playing in a room that Dexter himself would approve of with shots of a mysterious man drawing surgical lines on a mannequin.
Guitarist/vocalist Bijan Hennessey explains, “We filmed “Embedded in Tragedy” on the same day and in the same room as our video for “The Cell I Call Home.” [Dan] Newman did a sweet job of making both videos feel very different from each other by making “Cell” light and trippy and “Embedded” darker and more disturbing.”
“Embedded in Tragedy” comes from the band’s latest EP A Proper Hangman’s Knot, which you can get either on physical format or on digital.
Director Dan Newman tells us:
Working alongside My Missing Half is always a good time and we’re always pressing the limits. We shot this video under some restrictive space and time conditions, but with that pressure we rose to the occasion and created something special. We had a fun time coming up with a unique visual concept for the video too. I wanted to make sure that we left the viewer with some lasting imagery that tied into the message behind the song and also had some shock value. Really thrilled with the outcome and absolutely loved working with those guys!
