Resdient Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Tofu Mode Trailer! Bonus Costumes!

So for you old school hardcore Resident Evil fans, this will be a treat. Some of you may recall back in the days of Resident Evil 2, if you were to beat the game Leon A, Claire B, Leon A, Claire B, Leon A, Claire B, you would unlock “Tofu”. Now that was the easy way to get Tofu. And take what I say about easy with a grain of salt. If you wanted to do it the “hard” way, you would do it reverse. Claire A, Leon B, Claire A, Leon B, Claire A, Leon B. Yes, you beat the game 6 times.

What does it all mean? The A’s and B’s? Well depending on who you started the game with, Leon, or Claire, when you would pick the other person, the game would change. Either way, you have to beat it back and forth 6 times to unlock Tofu. Some of you are wondering, wtf is Tofu, I don’t get it. You get to throw Tofu or some shit at the enemies? No friends, please, step inside….. To tell you exactly what Tofu is, I have to explain Hunk. If you beat Claire A, Leon B, or Leon A, Claire B on normal or better, you unlock Hunk. Hunk is a STARS team member who gets attacked in the sewer but lives. So doing all this beating of the game you unlock a mini game. You play as Hunk, you start with some weapons ammo and a bit of a health and you have to GTF out of the sewer while being raped by zombies.

Tofu. In Tofu’s mini game, you are an actual giant block of tofu, and you have a knife. That’s it. You do a speed run through Hunks escape route, with the knife. No not the sweet as fuck knives like in Res 4 and 5, but the most brutal, do nothing waste of a weapon knife from the early Resident Evils. I definitely never beat Tofu’s mini game, but oh I tried.

Now I have talked for a while and I’m sorry for going on. A lot of you might have already known that but I figured I’d set it up for those who didn’t. In this trailer below, you can see that instead of taking on the role of tofu in Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles, tofu mode turns all the zombies into those giant blocks of tofu. And throughout the whole game you fight and shoot apart tofu.

Fun stuff right? SO aside from that blast from the past, as you probably saw in the 1st trailer I posted, you can unlock some fun costumes for the characters like you could back in the day as well. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is out TODAY on the Nintendo Wii.
