BD Review: Safe Choice Makes ‘New Moon’ a Major Dud
As many of you know I thought Twilight was passable, not good, not bad, but passable. Somewhere along the way to releasing The Twilight Saga: New Moon, they lost even me. Missing multiple screening opportunities, I sent BD’s own Chris Eggertsen, who appears to have the same feelings I had for the franchise. “…the producers went with Weitz, the safe choice, and now they have a major dud on their hands. I can only hope that young fans of the series will stay home this time. But I’m not naïve. Inspired by Nicholas Hogg’s 2015 novel Tokyo Nobody, the thriller A Sacrifice starring Sadie Sink (“Stranger Things”) is on the way from Vertical, and the official trailer has arrived.
From director Jordan Scott, the film releases on June 28, 2024.
“A Sacrifice is an emotionally turbulent story that follows American social psychologist Ben Monroe who is investigating a local Berlin cult connected to disturbing events.
“While he immerses himself in his work, his rebellious teenage daughter, Mazzy, becomes embroiled with a mysterious local boy who introduces her to the city’s underground party scene. As their two worlds head toward a dangerous intersection, Ben will need to race against the clock in order to save his daughter.”
Sadie Sink stars alongside Eric Bana and Sylvia Hoeks.
