New ‘Last Exorcism’ Poster is Totally Awesome, Yet, Ruins the Scares

It sucks that by today’s standards studios have to ruin a movie just to get your ass into a theater seat. The TV spots constantly give away big moments, and trailers seem to be more like “best of” montages than actual trailers. Even the art tends to give away great moments, such as Lionsgate’s creepy as hell new one sheet for The Last Exorcism. I don’t blame ’em as desperate times beg for desperate measures, but it definitely does suck that you’ll now be expecting the moment when it arrives in theaters August 27. What do you guys think?
After a career spent helping the devout through prayer and trickery, Reverend Cotton Marcus (Patrick Fabian) invites a film crew to document his final fraudulent days as an exorcist. Soon his faith is truly tested when a desperate plea from the father of a possessed girl (Ashley Bell) brings him face to face with the devil himself.
