Sharks, Girls and Guidos In ‘Jersey Shore Shark Attack’

Capitalizing on the popularity of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” Starz Media is in post-production on Jersey Shore Shark Attack, where Guidos and Preppies must team to survive. John Shepphird directs the flick starring Paul Sorvino, Jack Scalia, Tony Sirico, Melissa Molinaro, Joey Fatone and Vinny Guadagnino.

Many years ago, hundreds of locals and tourists were massacred by giant man-eating sharks in the infamous 1916 Jersey Shore attacks. But that’s just a legend… or is it? It’s a holiday weekend on the Jersey Shore and, unbeknownst to anyone, underwater drills have attracted dozens of albino bull sharks to the pier. When a man goes missing, TC (The Complication), Nookie and friends fear the worst and plead with the police chief to close down the beach. It isn’t until a famous singer is eaten alive during a performance on the pier that the shark hunt begins. Now, the Preppies must work together with the Guidos in order to save the Jersey Shore and its inhabitants from another vicious slaughter.

Director Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Fast X, “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance”) moves into the horror genre with the upcoming film 11817, Deadline reports today.

Rocket Science is presenting the project to buyers in Cannes.

“The film watches as inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their house indefinitely. As both modern luxuries and life or death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and outsmart who — or what — is keeping them trapped.”

Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) wrote the screenplay.

“Directing projects where the audience gets behind the characters has always been my focus. However complex, flawed, heroic, we identify with them as we live through their journey,” said Leterrier. “It’s what excites me about 11817‘s wholly original concept and the family at the heart of our story. This is an experience that movie audiences won’t forget.”

Louis Leterrier’s Carrousel Studios is producing the film alongside Rocket Science, Thank You Studios, Chernin Entertainment (A North Road Company) and 3 Arts Entertainment.
