Kudos to Devin Faraci over at Badass Digest for finding this amazing video of 1973 audiences losing their sh*t after seeing William Friedkin’s The Exorcist! It’s really quite something.
One thing that really struck me about this video is the imagery of all of the lines outside those theaters. It’s easy to accept that The Exorcist was a phenomenon, but considering how different marketing and distribution were back then it’s shocking to get visual evidence of what an out-of-the-box hit it was.
Check it out here.
