[EXCLUSIVE Preview] Undertow #6

“Undertow” is easily one of the best new series launched from Image this year. It’s a tale of class division, of escaping your past, and never really being able to leave your home. Yet, more than all of that it’s a deeply engaging exploration into unknown worlds, accompanied by incredibly captivated art by Artyom Trakhanov. Every issue is relentlessly paced and threatens to have readers tear the book in half over the mounting tension. Issue #5 is about to hit the stands this Wednesday, and we hear at Bloody-Disgusting have an exclusive look at “Undertow” #6. If you dig this teaser art make sure to run out to your local comic shop and preorder the final issue now. Comics live and die by their numbers, and “Undertow” must rise above the rest if we want to see this incredibly talented team continue to work.

Here’s what series writer, Steve Orlando had to say about these pages:

UNDERTOW is excited to welcome Yaroslav Astapeev to close out our initial miniseries with an exciting visit to the Atlantis, from the backstreets to the ballrooms. Yaroslav brought a unique, moody style to the undersea metropolis, first seen in his pin-up in Issue 5, and now with Issue 6 he imagines the Atlantean infrastructure in a new, haunting way. Artyom and I could not be happier to have Yaroslav help us create a new vision for our first extended look at downtown Azu City, the heart of Atlantean culture. UNDERTOW has always been about showing people something fresh, aggressive and new, and with this stinger scene, Yaroslav has done something truly wonderful.

In UNDERTOW Issue 6, it’s time to find out how the other half lives.
