The Dyatlov Pass is an area at the base of Russia’s Ural Mountains where a group of students were found dead, some of them maimed, back in 1959. To this day, we still don’t know exactly what happened to the students, and that’s since made the story and the area in which it took place ripe for creative storytelling. One indie developer is working on taking advantage of this eerie mystery by turning it into the setting for a horror game called Kholat — named after the eponymous mountain where the hikers lost their lives.
We haven’t seen much in terms of gameplay footage, and this new teaser doesn’t really change that. Even still, if done correctly, Kholat could be one ridiculously unsettling horror game. Enjoy its latest teaser trailer below.
