Our 5 Favorite Haunted House Games!

Dead Space – The USG Ishimura

REW_2

In 2008, we were gifted with Dead Space, a brand new survival horror game from developer Visceral Games. Before this series came along to shake up the genre, Visceral was mostly known for their work on licensed games based on The Lord of the Rings and 007. In Dead Space, the haunted house isn’t a house at all — it’s a class of space ship called a planet cracker, because it cracks open planets in order to get at their gooey, mineral rich cores.

The Ishimura’s purpose was altered when the Marker was discovered and brought on board, turning it into a home for an alien virus that has what four out of five doctors would refer to as a severe reaction when placed near humans. The effects Markers have on people is worse than that drug that may cause anal leakage, as it has a 100% chance of causing unsuspecting passersby to have a psychotic break, followed by an incredibly painful transformation into a mindless killing machine that we now refer to as a Necromorph.
