The horror adventure game Asylum has been in development for half a decade now. It’d be about a year short of qualifying as vaporware if developer Senscape didn’t offer the occasional reminder that it’s still very much alive and on track to release when it’s damn good and ready. So far, each update has offered a painfully glimpse look at the upcoming game, but that changes today thanks to a substantial update on its Kickstarter.
For starters, they’ve announced they’re making a documentary called “A Tour of Hanwell” that will chronicle the horror game’s longer-than-usual development time. The film will cover some of the things we’ve come to expect from “making of” films, including a look at early concept art and some behind the scenes footage. It will even follow the team as they visit a real asylum.
You know, for research.
The developer also offered some details on the official Asylum art book, which they’ve crammed full of “concept artwork, storyboards, early renders of locations, outtakes, the story and blueprints of Hanwell, trivia, the register of inmates including many [backer] names” and dubbed it the Record Book of the Insane Department.
Oh, and if you’re a backer who donated $100 or more to its Kickstarter campaign, Senscape is working on a VIP exclusive demo they hope to have ready later this month.
Senscape also offered a glimpse of the redesigned interface.
