Dead Island 2 / Dying Light
I tried to choose between Dead Island 2 and Dying Light, but the two games are just similar enough to make doing so more than a little difficult. So rather than choose between two post-apocalyptic sandbox games that feature weapon crafting, undead hordes, a variety of monsters, co-op and light RPG elements, I figured they could just share a spot on this list.
This isn’t to say that these games are identical, because they aren’t, but they each have about as much going for and against them as their competitor. For example, Dying Light is the more ambitious game of the two, but it’s coming from a studio — Dead Island creator Techland — that has a history of releasing unpolished games.
