“Promise” From ‘Silent Hill 2’ Was Remixed In This Game?!

Weird fact of the day: “Promise”, the melancholic theme of James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2, was remixed and used in 2001’s Frogger: The Great Quest! Yup, Akira Yamaoka‘s work can be heard in “The Dark Trail Ruins” level music, although it was converted into something that was meant to be more child-friendly but actually sounds, in my opinion, a bit more sinister, a bit more chaotic.

Now, it makes sense that the music made an appearance here as both games were developed and published by Konami. Interestingly, however, is that Silent Hill 2 was released less than a month before Frogger. SH2 came out in September 24th, 2001 and Frogger came out in November 18th, 2001. Interesting…

Listen below to the level music and then hear the original track right below it.
