5 Creepy Real Places Horror Games Should Visit, Part 5

The Hanging Coffins of Sagada, Philippines

Creepy5_15

Apparently, hanging coffins on cliffs is a thing in some parts of the world. They can be found adorning cliffs in China, Indonesia and the Philippines.

I imagine this started when vampire with one of those annoying names like Jayden or Caden shared a selfie of him in his sweet new cliffside crib. I’m positive he followed that up with a sacrilegious amount of hashtags, too. God, I hate Jayden.

The Igorot people have been cramming their dead into cliff coffins for 2,000 years for practical and religious reasons. The former has to do with their not wanting animals to get to the bodies, while the latter is all about making that trip to heaven just a little bit easier.

If countries like China hadn’t hogged all the good cliffs, America would be a much different place today. MTV would almost certainly have a show dedicated to giving viewers tours of celebrity death cribs, because people like Jayden love that sort of thing.

Now that I’ve had time to think about it, I wouldn’t necessarily call this creepy. It’s actually really cool. I’d like a cliff coffin.
