Deadline is reporting that Edgar Allan Poe’s classic horror story “The Tell-Tale Heart” is being adapted for modern day audiences into a new film called Tell-Tale Lies, which just began production.
The film, which will be directed by Colin Theys from a script by John Doolan, will focus on, “…four friends at a prestigious university whose promising futures are jeopardized when they become connected to the accidental death of a classmate. When another student says she knows about their involvement, the friends panic and start to plot her murder.”
The film will star Beau Mirchoff and Alexa PenaVega as well as Renee Olstead, Michael J. Willett, Bailey De Young, Sara Kapner, Ethan Phillips, Anthony Del Negro, Sean Patrick Thomas and John Heard.
No release date has yet been set. The film is being produced by Synthetic Cinema International and Stargazer Films.
