Ryan Phillipe revealed on Howard Stern, that’s he’s meeting with Marvel to discuss a role on one of their Netflix series. With AKA Jessica Jones already in production and Luke Cage‘s primary lead locked, speculation that he may be Marvel’s Danny Rand is taking the internet by storm.
“Marvel is interested in talking about Netflix, a series possibly,” Phillippe said, playing coy. He would make a lot of sense as Ironfist. Although we know nothing of his martial arts abilities. But, Marvel is usually very tight lipped about their casting announcements. In fact, I don’t think there has been a confirmed casting leak to this day. Especially in these new phases. So either Phillipe is incredibly close to the role, or he’s just playing around with expectations.
Just because Phillipe is talking to Marvel doesn’t mean he’s a lock for Ironfist. As we’ve seen on “Marvel’s Daredevil” the company is hunting big name actors for just about every role on these series. It’s entirely possible that Phillipe might be playing the role of a villain in Luke Cage, or some sort of supporting player in Iron Fist. Nothing is for sure, as of yet.
Iron Fist (Daniel “Danny” Rand) was created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, he first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 (May 1974). He is a practitioner of martial arts and the wielder of a mystical force known as the Iron Fist, which allows him to summon and focus his chi. Phillipe tried to put out the fire on Twitter.
I have no real marvel news other than an upcoming meeting. sorry to disappoint fans thought there was more to it. there is no story there.😊

The damage is done Ryan. The fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are rabid.
What do you think, would Ryan Phillipe make a good Ironfist, or is the actor trying too hard to stay relevant with his vague superhero comments?
