Fan-made ‘Dante’s Inferno’ Film Releases Short Teaser

The 2010 EA horror adventure game Dante’s Inferno wasn’t exactly the most well-received title in terms of sales. Yeah, the critics were overall happy with the final product but the game itself was passed over by a great many, which is sad because it’s one of the most visually disturbing, disgusting, and creative games of its time. And while comparisons to God of War might not have been terribly off the mark, it was still unique enough to keep me entertained through two or three playthroughs.

Based upon the infamous poem by Dante Alighieri, the game is the foundation for some rather interesting ideas. Firstly, there was an animated film for the title. Then there are still rumors being bandied about that a sequel, which will focus on the second book “Purgatorio”, is in the works. Lastly, and perhaps most interestingly, a film adaptation is in the works with Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) attached to direct.

While we wait for the potential sequel and live-action movie, fan Tal Peleg is directing a fan-made film called Dante’s Redemption that will see the first act being released in late 2016, according to them. However, we can get a small taste of the short with the below trailer that they released just a few days ago.

I’m all for this series getting a breath of new life as I think the world that Alighieri created is absolutely stunning and unbelievably terrifying. Never before has a description of Hell been so shocking and imaginative.
