Creators of ‘Alder’s Blood’ Announce ‘Divine Comedy’-Inspired RPG, ‘Nadir’

Published

on

Shockwork Games, the minds behind Alder’s Blood, have something new in the works for those wondering if you could make a game based on Dante’s Divine Comedy. Currently at the beginning of a Kickstarter campaign, Nadir is described as “an infernal, roguelike jRPG”, and will be headed to Steam and GOG.com, as well as the Nintendo Switch.

Nadir sees you control a team of three powerful, yet extremely blemished, characters, each representing one of the deadly sins. Your goal is to try to escape the seemingly endless, multi-layered eponymous city, which contains different themes, enemies, and challenges.

The title features procedurally-generated maps “burning of infernal fire” and inspired “with the deepest influence” from Dante’s Divine Comedy, and features fast-paced combat with lots of abilities and special effects, terrifying enemies, a Sin-City inspired art style, and modding support.

As mentioned, the Kickstarter campaign is still being prepped, so keep an eye out for it. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser trailer below.
