Christmas on… Friday the 13th?!
Everyone knows Rudolph, but are you familiar with Jason? The folks over on YouTube’s Friday the 13th Network just put a gory spin on a classic holiday special with “Jason the Killer Reindeer,” which features an original Friday the 13th song set to the tune of, of course, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” But Jason and Rudolph don’t deal with torment in the same way.
Like Jason Voorhees, Rudolph’s peers laughed at him, called him names, and never let him play any of their games, but while Rudolph became beloved in the wake of Santa Claus making him his main sidekick, Jason went a bit of a different route. After being drowned at Camp Crystal Lake, Jason took out his wrath on ANYONE that reminded him of the kids who made his childhood a living hell… a story that doesn’t exactly make for an uplifting holiday special.
Or does it?!
In “Jason the Killer Reindeer,” Christmas happens to take place on a Friday, and as you might imagine, the hockey mask-wearing reindeer in this fun little animated short goes on a North Pole killing spree; the other campers never let poor Jason smoke pot or get laid, and he’s not too happy about it. Spurred on by his dead mother’s talking head, Jason gets a little holiday revenge.
Enjoy!
