Many horror fans consider William Friedkin’s The Exorcist to be the scariest movie of all time, and that’s a crown that will probably never be taken off its head. The image of a demonically possessed Linda Blair is one that is seared into the brain of every horror fan on the planet, and that’s thanks not only to Blair and Friedkin but also legendary makeup artist Dick Smith. He turned the young Blair into one of the most frightening villains in the history of the horror genre; pretty damn impressive when you consider that the actress was, at the time, just 13 years old.
This year, Mezco pays tribute to the film, and to Dick Smith’s iconic makeup work, by adding Regan MacNeil to their Living Dead Dolls line. Due out sometime this Fall, the doll was just teased out of Toy Fair; we don’t yet have a full image, but you’ll find the impressive head sculpt below.
