This year, one of the most terrifying and unspeakably gruesome shows in television history will return to your nightmares with even more twisted tales of terror.

Beginning Friday, September 15, FX’s critically-acclaimed, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning television series “American Horror Story” will again come to life at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort. For a second consecutive year, guests will venture through Ryan Murphy’s groundbreaking horror anthology where they’ll encounter iconic scenes and come face-to-face with the memorable – and horrifying – characters from the series.

“American Horror Story” will also return to Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights in an all-new horrifying maze.  Stay tuned for more details about Hollywood’s experience.

Universal Orlando’s all-new, incredibly-detailed maze will bring three new installments of the “American Horror Story” anthology to life. In Asylum, guests will travel through the decades of the notorious Briarcliff – evading Dr. Arden’s grotesque human “Rasper” experiments and coming face to “face” with the serial killer, Bloody Face. In Coven, New Orleans aesthetics will surround guests as they’re drawn into the bloody rivalry between the descendants of the Salem witches, the voodoo Queen of New Orleans Marie Laveau, and the sadistic Madame Delphine LaLaurie. And finally, guests will relive the horrific story of the Millers in Roanoke – where they’ll be at the mercy of Piggy Man, the grisly Polk family and the ghosts of the blood moon.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando will run for a record-breaking 34 select nights from September 15 to November 4.  Guests will face all-new haunted houses based on iconic horror films, terrifying hit TV shows and haunting original stories; multiple scarezones where hordes of menacing “scareactors” stalk their every move; and outrageous live shows. And when they need a break from the screams, guests can enjoy some of Universal Studios’ popular rides & attractions throughout the evening.

Additional details about the event will be revealed soon. For more information, visit www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com/Orlando.

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
