One of the most memorable characters to come out of “American Horror Story” so far was Twisty the clown, portrayed by John Carroll Lynch in “Freak Show.” The killer clown was dead by the time the season came to a close, but creator Ryan Murphy promises he’ll be back in some capacity.
Over on Instagram tonight, Murphy shared an image of a faux comic book titled “Twisty: The Clown Chronicles,” presumably a prop that will be featured in this year’s new season. Murphy captioned the photo with the words, “He’s Baaaaaack.”
Does this mean Twisty will actually make an appearance in the election-themed Season 7? Or are we merely going to catch a glimpse of the comic, which suggests that Twisty’s legend will forever live on? Your guess is as good as ours. But don’t get your hopes up about seeing him again. It’s likely just an Easter egg tribute to the show’s past.
Season 7 will draw inspiration from last year’s presidential election, with the events of the season beginning on election night.
At least some portion of the season is being filmed in “Haddonfield.”
The confirmed cast includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billy Eichner, Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter, Colton Haynes and Leslie Grossman.
