[TGS 2018] First Look at Ada Wong, Zombie Dogs, and More in ‘Resident Evil 2 Remake’ Story Trailer

Every new trailer, bit of gameplay footage, and screenshot so far for the Resident Evil 2 Remake has set out to answer fan curiosity about what established characters and locations from the 1998 classic look like in their modern gory glory.

We’ve seen that Police Station, the streets of Raccoon City and been reintroduced to the new look Leon, Claire, Sherry, and the mutated William Birkin, and now we get a first look at a few more members of the supporting cast, including the fan favorite Ada Wong, who is sporting a much more reserved get up.

At Tokyo Games Show 2018, Capcom were introducing the Japanese voice actors for a variety of Resident Evil 2 Remake characters and showed off the first official glimpse of Ada Wong, Chief Irons, and Annette Birkin.

Chief Irons is an extremely creepy and corrupt head of the R.P.D. while Annette is a scientist and is also the wife of the man-monster William Birkin, and mother of Sherry Birkin. Ada is a mysterious and aloof woman who Leon encounters during his descent into Umbrella’s Bio-Weapon hell.

Oh, and the zombified dogs are back and looking quite gruesome.

There’s also a new story trailer that also shows Ada in her trenchcoat and sunglasses look. It’s a bit over the top in a 50’s spy kind of way and I genuinely applaud that.

The change of outfit is causing some grumbles with some fans, but there’s certainly no indication Ada isn’t going to be sporting another outfit closer to her red dress from the 1998 version. Anyway, we’ve already discussed why change is a good thing where Resident Evil is concerned.

Resident Evil 2 Remake will shuffle onto PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25.

Clive Barker

We told you earlier this month that horror legend Clive Barker is leaving the convention scene behind to focus entirely on his writing, with various upcoming projects in the works.

A series of final appearances from Barker will begin at Days of the Dead Chicago this month, and we’ve learned Barker will also be coming to Monster Mania in New Jersey.

Clive Barker will be signing at Monster Mania 59 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which runs from August 2 – August 4, 2024. Stay tuned for more info from the convention.

Barker’s official statement earlier this month explained, “… it’s time to focus entirely on writing. I’m not stopping public events because I’ve lost delight in meeting you all over the years. I’m as passionate as ever about sharing my imagination with readers and moviegoers around the world. In the very room where I’m writing these words, I have the manuscripts for a very large number of projects (Thirty-one of them), some very close to completion, others still telling themselves. There are some wild projects in this collection of works, whether close to finished or done. There are also stories that you all knew I would be finishing.”

“Abarat IV and V are amongst the books at my feet,” he continued. “So is the Third and final book of The Art and the sequel to The Thief of Always. There are also return visits to characters and mythologies you may have thought I would never return to.

“I hope I am still able to surprise you in the decades ahead.”
