New ‘Sekiro’ Mod Adds Elemental Damage to Your Sword
Modders are at it again with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, giving you a potentially easier, but definitely unique, gameplay experience with the addition of elemental damage being added to your katana. Modder ChoongJing’s Elemental Weapon Buffs mod adds a series of gourds to the game, that when consumed, will grant you five-minute buffs of either Fire, Terror, Poison, Thunder, or Shura damage.
The fire, thunder and terror (aka holy) effects are fairly straightforward, and add an extra chunk of elemental damage onto your normal attacks. Poison gives you 1.25x normal posture damage. The Shura element, on the other hand, doubles all your damage output, gives you 1.3x normal health, but makes you lose a chunk of health every second.
In other words, you’ll have to use it in a crowd.
Each damage type changes the appearance of your sword, which you can view the Nexus Mods gallery here for examples. The Shura effect gives you glowing demonic red eyes, which is appropriate for the buff.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
