Despite the release delay to next year, 505 Games and developer ArtPlay had something to show during the Xbox Showcase at Tokyo Game Show for Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, unveiling an all-new gameplay trailer for the upcoming gothic action RPG. The newly released gameplay footage showcases plenty of previously unseen content, providing fans with their most extensive look yet at the upcoming adventure.
Alongside a glimpse at several new gameplay mechanics that build upon the game’s exploration-driven action and progression systems, the trailer features new characters, diverse environments, and plenty of new enemies.
Set in the 16th century, the Ethereal Castle and its demonic inhabitants led by the Demon Lord Elias have been terrorizing the land, laying waste to all who defy their dark power. All attempts to destroy the castle and fight the demons have failed, leaving many noble warriors defeated and lost. The last hope of humanity is an unlikely duo: Leonard, a young Black Wolves apprentice, and Alexander, a knight and the last survivor of White Stags. Together they must work as one to infiltrate the castle, fight for survival, acquire powerful artifacts and defeat the Demon Lord Elias.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
