After spending the last few weeks talking Dreamcatcher‘s farty aliens (listen), Rear Window‘s voyeurism (listen), and Jane Schoenbrun’s contemporary queer classic I Saw The TV Glow (listen), Horror Queers Podcast turned our attention to Kurtis David Harder‘s criminally underseen and underappreciated sequel, Influencers (2025).
In the sequel to 2022’s Influencer, CW (Cassandra Naud) has miraculously escaped being stranded on a Thai island and made her way to Paris, where she’s begun a relationship with Diane (Lisa Delamar). Meanwhile, life has gone to hell for her victim/survivor Madison (Emily Tennant), who is doxxed and disbelieved on the internet.
Determined to prove her side of the story, Madison follows a social media trail that takes her from France to Bali as prey becomes predator.
Do new influencers like Charlotte (Georgina Campbell) or conservative couple Cameron (Dylan Playfair) and Ariana (Veronica Long) stand a chance? Can Madison figure out CW’s new pattern or will she be thwarted a second time? And when the two women inevitably meet, will one of them finally end up dead?
