After kicking off September with looks at Tobe Hooper’s misunderstood sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (listen) and John D. Hancock’s moody woman-in-peril thriller Let’s Scare Jessica to Death (listen), we’re kicking off “Thanks for the Judds,” a six-week programming block on Ashley Judd thrillers. First up is Gary Fleder‘s 1997 adaptation of James Patterson‘s second Alex Cross novel, Kiss the Girls.
Kiss the Girls sees forensic psychologist Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman) become embroiled in the case of Casanova, a North Carolina-based serial killer with a penchant for talented women, after his niece Naomi (Gina Ravera) becomes his latest abductee. When another one of Casanova’s victims, Doctor Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd), manages to escape his clutches, Cross teams up with McTiernan to track the killer down and save his niece.
