Director Chosen For ’28 Months Later’?

While at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, Arrow in the Head founder John Fallon was tipped off that a director has been chosen for Fox Atomic’s 28 Months Later, the third film in the zombie franchise ignited by Danny Boyle back in 2002. The website reports that Paul Andrew Williams will be the next director to tackle the subject of the dead returning to life. You might know Williams’ work from Sony Home Entertainment’s release of the UK horror-comedy, THE COTTAGE, which is now available on DVD everywhere. Until this is confirmed, consider this rumor. ‘Onslaught’ – ‘The Guest’ & ‘You’re Next’ Duo Reteaming for A24 Action-Thriller

Fresh off directing both Godzilla vs. Kong and this year’s Godzilla x Kong, director Adam Wingard is said to be getting back to his roots with the upcoming action-thriller Onslaught.

A24 has picked up the package, with Wingard directing and frequent creative partner Simon Barrett writing. The duo made a name for themselves with The Guest and You’re Next.

The news was first reported by Deadline this afternoon.

The site notes in their exclusive report, “Plot details are being kept under wraps but the film is in the vein of Wingard and Barrett’s cult classics like The Guest and You’re Next.”

Producers include Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett for Ryder Picture Company (RPC) banner alongside A24, Alexander Black for Lyrical Media, Wingard and Jeremy Platt for Breakaway Civilization, and Simon Barrett. Deadline’s report also notes this afternoon, “Lyrical’s Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers will serve as executive producers with A24.”

Adam Wingard’s directorial credits also include A Horrible Way to Die, V/H/S, V/H/S/2, and Blair Witch, while Simon Barrett scripted all of the above. Barrett recently made his feature directing debut with Séance, and he wrote the upcoming Azrael starring Samara Weaving.
