There’s a ‘Wicker Man’ Rollercoaster Opening In the UK!

A wood and fire coaster – what could possibly go wrong?!

The crops are sure not to fail at UK theme park Alton Towers with the revelation of a Wicker Man inspired ride set to open this spring!  It marks the first wooden rollercoaster to be built in the UK for 21 years and will uniquely combine fire.  Take a look at the time lapse video of the construction below and sign up to the be first to ride here.

Wicker Man structure standing at 57.57ft (17.55m) tall – the height of a six-story building – will dominate the very center of Alton Towers Resort, appearing to burst into flames as the wooden track races three separate times through the structure.

Ghoulies II 4K UHD from MVD

Ghoulies II will pop up on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on July 9 as part of MVD’s 4K LaserVision Collection. The 1987 sequel has been has been newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative with Dolby Vision/HDR and LPCM 2.0 Stereo Audio.

Both the 90-minute theatrical and 91-minute unrated cuts are included, along with reversible artwork, a slipcover, and a mini poster.

Albert Band (I Bury the Living) directs from a script by Dennis Paoli (Re-Animator, From Beyond). Damon Martin, Royal Dano, Phil Fondacaro, J. Downing, and Kerry Remsen star. Charles Band (Puppet Master, Subspecies) executive produces.

Special features include: More Toilets, More Terror: The Making of Ghoulies 2 with Remsen, Charles Band, actor Donnie Jeffcoat, and special effects artist Gino Crognale; introduction by Paoli; interview with Paoli; deleted scenes; theatrical trailer; and photo gallery.


Texas Chain Saw Massacre Shirt from Rucking Fotten

Rucking Fotten is celebrating The Texas Chain Saw Massacre‘s 50th anniversary with an officially licensed collection that’s only available through Sunday, May 12.

The line includes all kinds of apparel, but none more striking than this all-over print shirt. Something about the stark black-and-white imagery makes Leatherface even scarier.

Priced at $55, it will ship in 6-8 weeks.


Infinity Pool Poster from Mutant

Mutant the new art and collectibles company from the former creative team behind Mondo in association with SpectreVision has released a poster for Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool.

Designed by Phantom City Creative, the 24×36 screen print is a hand-numbered edition of 115. It costs $65 and is expected to ship in June.


House of 1000 Corpses Miniatures from Trick or Treat Studios

Trick or Treat Studios has launched pre-orders for a set of House of 1000 Corpses miniatures, which can be used in conjunction with the House of 1000 Corpses board game or enjoyed on their own.

It includes nine 1.6″ figures: Captain Spaulding, Otis, Baby, Dr. Satan, Grandpa Hugo, Earl, Tiny, Mother Firefly, and Wydell. Priced at $24.95, shipping is expected to begin in February 2025.


Phantoms 4K UHD from Scream Factory

Phantoms will invade 4K UHD + Blu-ray on July 16 via Scream Factory. The 1988 sci-fi horror film has been newly scanned in 4K from the original camera negative with Dolby Vision.

Joe Chappelle (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers) directs from a script by Dean Koontz, based on Koontz’s 1983 novel of the same name. Peter O’Toole, Rose McGowan, Joanna Going, Liev Schreiber, Ben Affleck, Nicky Katt, Clifton Powell, and Michael DeLorenzo star.

Special features include: new interviews with producer Joel Soisson and director of photography Richard Clabaugh; the trailer; and a TV spot.
