With Hereditary director Ari Aster‘s summer-themed horror film Midsommar now in theaters, someone got the genius idea to mash it up with David Wain‘s indie comedy Wet Hot American Summer.
While one is clearly horror and the other a comedy, both films are cult classics, hilarious, and also kinda freaky. This mashup is perfection, mixing in misinterpreted shots from Wet Hot American Summer as if it were a horror film about a summertime cult with that of Midsommar‘s actual Sawyer-esque cult family.
Wet Hot American Midsommar is a fever dream that we wish we could see.
