“Yorkiethon 7” – Adam Green and Joe Lynch Are Back for a Week-Long Fundraising Celebration!

Published

on

An annual tradition for the past seven years, The Movie Crypt podcast has announced Yorkiethon 7, the podcast’s seventh annual live marathon broadcast to benefit Save A Yorkie Rescue which will take place Sunday, December 4 through Saturday, December 10, 2022!

Hosted by filmmakers and podcast hosts Adam Green (HATCHET, FROZEN), Joe Lynch (MAYHEM, POINT PLANK) and Arwen the Yorkie, this year’s 48 hour variety show will be expanded across a full week with live streams taking place each day.

To date Green, Lynch, and Arwen have raised ruff-ly $200,000 for Save A Yorkie Rescue, a non-profit, fully volunteer dog rescue that specializes in rescuing abandoned and abused Yorkshire Terriers. Yorkiethon 7 will feature over 70 special guests performing live comedy, live music, live film commentaries, live special FX/art demonstrations, live interviews, and more!

This year’s centerpiece event will be a live script reading of Jeffery Reddick’s FLIGHT 180, the original 1998 draft of what would become FINAL DESTINATION, one of the genre’s biggest box office franchises of all time. Filmmaker Dave Parker (THE HILLS RUN RED, TALES OF HALLOWEEN) will produce and direct Yorkiethon 7’s live script reading of FLIGHT 180. This will be Parker’s 5th year producing the live script performance for Yorkiethon.

In addition to the full week of live entertainment, Yorkiethon 7 will once again offer “Arwen’s Silent Auction” where fans can purchase or bid on autographed movie and music memorabilia, one of a kind screen used props and wardrobe, original artwork, apparel, jewelry, toys, and more with all proceeds going to Save A Yorkie Rescue.

The entire week of live streams for Yorkiethon 7 will be free to watch on ArieScope.com. The link to donate or bid on items in “Arwen’s Silent Auction” will be provided directly beneath the live stream window. Every penny raised through The Movie Crypt’s annual Yorkiethon goes directly to helping the dogs under the care of Save A Yorkie Rescue and never towards things like administrative costs that many charities tend to use a portion of their donations to cover.

“The horror community contains some of the biggest hearts in the world,” says co-host Adam Green. “Joe, Arwen, and I are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by so many artists who answer our call to help out and our audience blows us away with their generosity for animal rescue year after year.”

While the list of artists that appear during each year’s Yorkiethon is always kept as a surprise, fans can check out the goodies up for grabs in “Arwen’s Silent Auction” now at 32Auctions.com/Arwen2022.

“Our co-host Arwen has really outdone herself this year,” says co-host Joe Lynch. “It isn’t easy for a Yorkshire terrier to travel all over Hollywood on those tiny legs and collect items donated from her celebrity friends but somehow she managed to build the most exciting silent auction in our seven years so far!”

More items will continue to be added over the coming days.
