Madballs Designer James Groman Sculpted a ‘Deadly Spawn’ Vinyl Toy That You Can Pre-Order Now

If you’re a fan of the 1983 creature feature The Deadly Spawn you’re definitely going to want to get in on this officially licensed vinyl toy, sculpted by James Groman and being crowd-funded over on Kickstarter by Justin Ishmael. Two vinyl figures were sculpted by Groman, in the monster’s baby and fully grown forms, and they’re up for pre-order beginning today.

  • The Deadly Spawn Larvae is made in soft vinyl and measures 7″ long and 2.5″ high.
  • The full sized Deadly Spawn figure is made of soft vinyl, measures 9″ tall and 11″ deep and has 3 poseable heads and 2 tentacle arms.

Ishamel writes, “We are so close to starting production! Both toys have been hand sculpted, digitally scanned thanks to Arcane Visionaries and sent to the factory where they await the word from us to start. That’s where you come in! We hope that we will be able to start shipping these toys out in Q1 of 2019 with the rest of 2018 being used for production.”

Over on Kickstarter, you can pre-order blanks and fully painted versions of both toys, with your money ensuring that these actually get produced. The goal amount is $20,000.

At the time of writing this article, over $10,000 has already been raised in mere hours!

‘Scary Movie’ Official Popcorn Bucket Is Shaped Like a Retro ’90s Telephone

The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.

The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.

The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.

A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.

Call Shorty now at: (855) WAZ-ZZUP

Hitting theaters June 5, 2026Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.

Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs Scary Movie 6 from a script written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory WayansCraig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
