Madballs Designer James Groman Reimagines Iconic DC Characters for Limited Edition Toy Line
Known for his contributions to the Madballs and My Pet Monster toys of the ’80s, James Groman has now partnered with DC for a line of grotesque toys that re-imagine DC’s most iconic characters in Groman’s own unique style, and the line was fully unveiled over the weekend at DesignerCon. The 7″ vinyl figures are part of the DC Artists Alley collection.
For the kickass line, Groman brings his signature art style to the DC Universe and offers his terrifying spin on Batman, Killer Croc, The Joker and Two-Face.
“When DC Collectibles asked me to design and sculpt my own renditions of DC’s iconic Dark Knight and a few of his villainous adversaries, I was excited and intrigued,” said Groman. “Growing up, I wasn’t as big a fan of costumed heroes like most of my friends and was usually drawn to characters like Swamp Thing, Monster of Frankenstein and Werewolf by Night. With that said, I’ve always been a Batman fan, mostly because of his dark nature and origins, and he has THE BEST villains. Working with Jim Fletcher and Trevor Zammit at DC Collectibles on these figures has been so creatively satisfying! It was interesting to see just how far we could take the designs but still remain respectful of each character’s basic DNA.”
Groman’s designer vinyls will hit stores in October 2019 and are available to preorder now. Each character is limited to 3,000 pieces, selling for $65 each.

‘Scary Movie’ Official Popcorn Bucket Is Shaped Like a Retro ’90s Telephone
The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.
The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.
The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.
A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.
Call Shorty now at: (855) WAZ-ZZUP
Hitting theaters June 5, 2026, Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”
Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…
Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs Scary Movie 6 from a script written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
