“Rick and Morty” Are Parodying Classic Horror Films in Anticipation of the New Season

I haven’t seen all of Adult Swim’s mind-bending animated series “Rick and Morty” but I know what I’ve seen is absolutely brilliant. It’s sharp, crazy, and isn’t afraid to tackle deep, sometimes depressing concepts with biting humor. Honestly, I have a feeling that if I binged it, it’d be one of my favorite shows. Alas, I don’t have the opportunity to do so, so I’ll just enjoy what I can get in the meanwhile.

With a new season supposedly returning next month, Adult Swim is pushing the show in interesting and exciting ways, which begins with the below super shorts. Created by Lee Hardcastle (Gunship, ABCs of Death), “Rick and Morty: The Non-Canonical Adventures” are clips that mix the show with some of the best horror films that the genre has to offer, including The Thing, The Fly, and Halloween, as well as sneaking in Ex Machina. They’re delightfully charming and well worth a minute of your time as each clip is only between 15 and 25 seconds.

Now, I’m off to get schwifty!
