Ghostface Targets Trick or Treaters in “Scream” Reboot

Published

on

In the midst of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, the future of all of The Weinstein Company/Dimension Films’ horror projects are in question. One big question mark was the forthcoming “Scream” reboot, which was currently filming during the outbreak of news on Weinstein. Would MTV and Netflix pull the plug on the production? The answer is no, as we’ve confirmed filming continues in Atlanta, Georgia. In fact, they’re currently casting for an interesting shoot later this week, seeking local extras with generic Halloween costumes for a trick or treating sequence.

The episode, currently titled “Trick or Treat”, is seeking “Caucasian-looking 7-12-year-olds to portray trick or treating kids in an upscale suburban neighborhood.” They expect non-trademarked and generic Halloween costume(s), with examples including “Angel, Witch, Monster, Cowboy/Cowgirl, Police, Doll, Cat, etc.”

The “Scream” reboot, which brings back the iconic Ghostface mask, will be 6-episodes.

Season three of the now-anthology reboot revolves around Deion Elliot (RJ Cyler), a local star running back whose tragic past comes back to haunt him at the worst time, threatening his hard-earned plans for his future — and the lives of his unlikely group of friends.

“Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey will play the series regular role of Shane, a high school dropout. The character is described as a drug dealer and party promoter who is always hustling in order to make money. But beneath that exterior, there’s more to Shane than anyone realizes.

The new cast includes Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), RJ Cyler (I’m Dying Up Here), Giorgia Whigham (13 Reasons Why), Jessica Sula (Recovery Road), rapper Tyga(aka Michael Ray Stevenson), C.J. Wallace and Giullian Yao Gioiello (Julie’s Greenroom).

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Brad Dourif

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.
