David Slade Directs the Black and White “Black Mirror” Episode, “Metalhead” [Trailer]

Netflix’s “Black Mirror” will feature a fully black and white episode when it returns to the streaming service later this month.

In “Metalhead”, a woman (Maxine Peake; The Theory Of Everything, The Village) comes across a “dog” and apparently has another problematic run-in with other humans. It’s unclear what’s the concept behind this episode, but it carries a Mad Max vibe and looks to pit woman versus animal and man. Jake Davies (The Missing, A Brilliant Young Mind) and Clint Dyer (Hope Springs) also star.

The episode was directed by Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night‘s David Slade, who is also behind episodes of “Hannibal” and “American Gods”.

“Black Mirror” is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.
