While the first season of Fox’s “The Exorcist” was a revelation, the second couldn’t keep the momentum. The series would be canceled by after just two seasons. Now, all 20 episodes can be streamed over at Hulu in the U.S.
Widely regarded as the greatest horror movie ever made, “The Exorcist” broke box office records and terrified audiences around the world. Now, more than four decades later, “The Exorcist” returned as a contemporary psychological TV thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of terrifying demonic possession.
In the first season, a family gets entangled with the Catholic Church when it suspects a demonic presence in its home. Season 2 found Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and a newly collarless Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to Andrew Kim (John Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two head west, setting themselves on a collision course with Hell.
