It’s clear that HBO is going back to the spirit of the standout first season with the upcoming third season of “True Detective,” which again centers on a disturbing murder-mystery and again takes place across two different periods of time. Like all the other trailers, the latest one feels very “Season 1,” so it’s likely we’re in store for an early 2019 treat with this one.
